Born on February 22, 1977, in York, Pennsylvania, to Jim and Karen Chronister, Shannon’s vibrant spirit and joyful demeanor touched the lives of many. Shannon is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Anthony Collins, and their three children, Aiden, Xander, and Liam Collins. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and genuine compassion.

Shannon’s earlier years were dedicated to youth ministry, where she served with Child Evangelism Fellowship in Durham, North Carolina. Her impact was profound, and she formed lasting friendships while positively influencing the lives of many. Known for her ability to fit a remarkable number of teenagers into a single vehicle, Shannon’s commitment to youth ministry showcased her boundless energy and passion for making a difference.

Later, she served as a Youth Pastor at Cedar Grove Church, imparting valuable life lessons on strength, resilience, and the importance of serving and loving others genuinely. In recent times, Shannon embraced the role of “the gum lady” at church, always ready with treats, toys, and activity books for the children.

Shannon’s love for people was evident in her outgoing and warm personality. She had a unique ability to connect with everyone she met, offering compliments and sharing funny stories to brighten their day. Her generosity extended to gift-giving, and she cherished moments spent crafting, sewing, and quilting with her mother.

Remembered for her superpower of spreading joy and laughter, Shannon Collins will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life is scheduled for January 27, 2024, at Harrison Street Baptist Church in New Madison, Ohio. The community will gather to honor Shannon’s memory, and Pastor Kyle Herrmann will officiate the service, providing solace to those who mourn the loss of this remarkable woman. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to Noon on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the church.
